I’ve never been one to set resolutions or make New Year’s resolutions. I usually just wing it and hope that by the end of the year, I’ve managed to accomplish something. This year, however, I’m making a change. I’m committing myself to writing down my goals and resolutions for the year, and then holding myself accountable to them. Here are my first few goals for the new year:

  • Write at least one article per week
  • Spend more time reading books
  • Take more trips
  • Spend more time with family and friends
  • Get more exercise
  • Learn new things
  • Say no more often
  • Live a balanced life

What are My New Year’s Resolutions?

I always make a list of resolutions for the new year, but this year is different. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m older or if my goals have changed, but I’m having a lot more difficulty coming up with good resolutions. Maybe it’s because I’ve been so busy the last few months, but either way, here are my current ideas:

Cut down on drinking This one is pretty self-explanatory. I need to clean up my act a bit and stop indulging as much.

Make more time for friends and family  I’ve been focusing too much on work lately and not enough time with the people who matter most to me. Hopefully this will change in 2018.

Take on a new project  This one is definitely inspired by my current circumstances. I’ve been feeling stagnant lately and it would be nice to take on something new that challenges me.

Learn more about myself This one is probably the most difficult for me because I don’t really like introspection. But maybe learning more about myself will help me better understand and appreciate who I am right now.

Live a healthier lifestyle Another goal that I’ve been wanting to tackle for a while is to start eating healthier and working out more.

Overall, I’m not sure if these are the best resolutions for me, but I’ll give it a shot. What are your New Year’s resolutions?

How I’m Going to Start Working on My New Year’s Resolutions

I really want to kick start my new year’s resolutions with some good habits. I’m going to start by starting my day with a positive mindset. I’m also going to try and stick to my goals for the whole month, rather than just trying to do a lot in a short amount of time. I’m going to make sure I take care of myself mentally and physically throughout the year.

I’m also going to try and be more social. I’m going to make sure to get out and meet new people, and start building relationships. I’m also going to make an effort to keep my house clean and organized, and find time for hobbies outside of work.

What Happened After I Made My New Year’s Resolutions

I made a list of goals for the new year, and I was determined to stick to them. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as planned. Here’s a look at what happened after I made my resolutions:

Quit smoking: I started smoking again after making this resolution.
Exercise more: I’ve been trying to work out every day, but it’s been hard to stick to it.
Spend more time with my family: I’ve been spending less time with my family this year because I’m working more and I’m also trying to get more sleep.
Get better grades: This hasn’t been easy, but I’m hoping that by the end of the semester I’ll have gotten better grades.

Conclusion

It’s that time of year again, when we all make resolutions for the new year. But while it’s always great to aim high and hope to achieve something big, sometimes it can be hard to know where to start. That’s where this article comes in. In it, I’ll outline my personal New Year’s resolutions and how I’m planning on achieving them. If you’re looking for some ideas or inspiration, be sure to check it out.
